FKF on Monday announced that they have
awarded the abandoned match to Gor Mahia after reviewing the referees’ report
blaming Sony Sugar the host team for causing the abandonment. The match was
abandoned in the 85th minute after controversy surrounded Gor
Mahia’s equalizer by David Owino.
KPL had initially ruled that the match be
replayed on the 18th of September but FKF has now directed that Gor
Mahia deserve maximum points since Sony Sugar are responsible for the abandonment.
This leaves Mighty K’Ogalo on 44 points,
9 ahead of their closest rivals Sofapaka who are on 35 points with only 8
matches left. Surely, can anything stop the Green Army from winning the 2013
KPL title?
